Family: The Child's First Teacher

Being a parent is one of the most rewarding and difficult tasks you will ever undertake.

Taking care of our children is the most important, most wonderful, and often the most challenging job in our society. Because you provide the primary environments for infants and young children, your health and welfare are extremely important. When you are exhausted, irritable, depressed or overwhelmed you will probably have a harder time meeting the needs of young children. When you feel overwhelmed, take care of yourself. Reach out and get some help. Family, friends, and others can all assist you in fostering your child's healthy development and school readiness.
